Injectable Platelet Rich Fibrin (i-PRF) is the next generation of PRP

PRP (often called the 'Vampire Facial') has been improved upon with i-PRF. It offers an innovative concept to overcome previous limitations within regenerative medicine. i-PRF offers excellent cell viability and bio compatibility with superior tissue regeneration. This advanced form of Platelet Rich Plasma does not use anticoagulants or other chemical-based additives, therefore offers a completely natural treatment to improve volume loss, photo damage, fine lines and wrinkles, scars, pigmentation, poor texture, and hair restoration. What's more, the concentration of growth factors within the i-PRF sample is much higher than in PRP, giving better more noticeable results.

For patients with significant hair loss, then a combined approach with transplant procedures is needed. i-PRF works well for both men and women, especially those in the early stages of hair loss but is particularly effective post hair transplant procedures, such as below.

Hair loss can be a natural part of our bodies functional cycle occurring in the hair follicle. There are three phases to this cycle;

  • Exogen (shedding phase)
  • Telogen (resting phase)
  • Anagen (growth phase)

Should multiple follicles of the hair be in the resting phase of the bodies cycle at the same time the hair can appear to be thinning.

i-PRF has been shown to extend the growth phase and increase the amount of blood supply to the hair follicles. This ultimately results in a fuller scalp.

Treatment consists of multiple injections into the scalp followed by micro-needling at the same appointment, and then follow up treatments of Keravive (via Hydrafacial), and also home care. Treatment results will be seen in a relatively short time, but full results and can take longer, with i-PRF treatment needed every 1-2 months.

Combination Treatments

Synergistic treatments are highly effective. i-PRF improves the skin health, thus improving results from other aesthetic treatments, i-PRF Facial is the gold standard in natural skin treatments to increase the production of collagen, and for anyone who wants to look refreshed and improve the appearance and condition of their skin.

iPRF combined with Micro-needling or Radio frequency Micro-needling can give the ultimate 'natural' result

Controlled mild damage to your skin triggers the healing process that rejuvenates the skin. This encourages collagen production and reduces the appearance of pores, lines, wrinkles and imperfections. When combined with your own Growth Factors the procedure 'stamps' Microscopic channels into the skins matrix, injecting the 'good stuff'.  At the same time, it stimulates your own natural repair response to give intense cosmetic results.

How Does i-PRF Smart Cell work?

David will take a small amount of blood from the arm, which is centrifuged to separate the cells, allowing the conditioned plasma to be extracted and used. The growth factors and platelets become trapped within the three-dimensional fibrin matrix and released slowly to trigger cellular renewal, skin remodeling and stem cell stimulation.

i-PRF 'Face Lift'...?

Using iPRF and a Cannula Technique the aim is to use the least amount of entry points but reach multiple treatment areas, with the benefit of less pain, reduced risk of bruising and minimal downtime.

With Facial Mapping the treatment goals are:

  • Symmetry on both sides of the face
  • Smooth contours
  • Even skin tone and texture

The transition between the anatomical regions of the face should be subtle and harmonious.

Treatment areas from just 3 injection points are:

Treatment areas:

  1. Mid face
  2. Cheeks
  3. Tear Troughs
  4. Nose to Lip lines
  5. Mouth
  6. Marionettes (lip to chin lines)
  7. Jaw contouring
  8. Jowls

i-PRF intensifies the functioning and reproduction of cells. The effect is accumulative and long lasting without any considerable side effects. As a result, new fibroblasts, collagen and elastin are produced. You will notice better skin elasticity and complexion will improve, fine lines will diminish and the skin will appear better hydrated. Even pigmentation and Rosacea can reduce.

i-PRF facial treatments are usually administered as a course of 3 or 4 treatments with a 3-4 week interval. After your initial treatment you might want to have a single session 2-3 times per year to maintain the results, but as this completely bio-compatible you can have this monthly should you wish.

Benefits of i-PRF Smart Cell Treatment

i-PRF is the most biocompatible and effective autologous treatment to date. i-PRF is a unique treatment that plays a pivotal role in hair restoration and maintaining firmness and elasticity in your skin. i-PRF supports the repair of damaged skin, while helping to maintain the skin's protective and regenerative functions.

What Is the Difference Between i-PRF and Dermal Fillers?

i-PRF is 100% natural, with no additives or chemicals added and can be injected the same way as dermal fillers. i-PRF can be used to improve laxity and volume loss or used in conjunction with other treatments such as micro-needling, for an even more enhanced result.

What Is the Difference Between i-PRF and PRP?

i-PRF does not use anti-coagulant or chemicals. The platelet concentration in i-PRF is more than double that of PRP. The three-dimensional fibrin matrix traps the platelets and growth factors and controls their slow release which leads to a more efficient cell migration, proliferation, and bio-stimulation. i-PRF is unique - there is no substitute.

Who is suitable for i-PRF?

If you have any of the following, you may be advised to postpone any PRF treatment:-

  • Pregnancy or breast-feeding
  • Undergoing anticoagulant therapy, such as Warfarin
  • Any medical condition having a significant effect on platelet function
  • Unwell because of any recent blood-loss or infection

How does i-PRF work?

i-PRF intensifies the functioning and reproduction of cells, thus having a gentle, gradual yet long lasting and accumulative effect. Of course, i-PRF results are all the more impressive when incorporated into a treatment plan with hyaluronic acid fillers, wrinkle-relaxing treatments and other skin treatments. Producing virtually no downtime, this clinic based treatment can be used for skin and hair rejuvenation as well as treating problematic melasma and acne scars.

Why is Fibrin Important?

Fibrin functions as a matrix that traps platelets contained in the Plasma, and controls the release of growth factors “very slowly and continuously' over 7-10 days. Growth factors release rate into the target tissue is important for tissue receptors to respond over a prolonged period of time following treatment. Platelets release 7 fundamental growth factors:

  • PDGF(Platelet Derived Growth Factor) - help to heal wounds and to repair damage to blood vessel walls
  • FGF(Fibroblast Growth Factor) - controls the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of a variety of cell types of mesodermal and neuroectodermal origin
  • VEGF(Vascular Endothelial Growth Factor) - acts as an anti-apoptotic factor, protecting hematopoietic cells from programmed cell death
  • EGF(Epithelial Growth Factor) - plays a vital role in the production of collagen, elastin, and hyaluronic acid to maintain skin's healthy, dense, and youthful appearance
  • KGF(Keratinocyte Growth Factor) - induces the proliferation, differentiation, and migration of epithelial cells
  • IGF(Insulin Growth Factor) - promotes normal growth of bones and tissues
  • TGF-β(Transforming Growth Factor Beta) - functions as a tumor suppressor by mediating its antiproliferative effects in a large variety of cell types

What is the role of i-PRF treatment in Hair Growth Treatment?

This is an all-natural non-surgical therapeutic option for patients who suffer from hair loss or thinning. i-PRF can enhance the growth of hair follicles by stimulating the stem cells and other cells in the micro-environment of the hair follicle, through the release and use of growth factors (see above). These special platelet cells promote healing and accelerate the rate and degree of tissue regeneration, resulting in new hair growth and thickening of existing hair. It can only help with recent hair loss where the follicles are still present, but are dormant. It cannot help to grow hair that has been lost for a prolonged period, i.e., complete baldness.

How can it help with Scarring?

A scar is basically repaired tissue where the collagen has been deposited in a very dense pattern. Therefore the skin appears to look whiter and tougher and shows dips, dents or little bumps. i-PRF will help the cells in the skin to reorganise the scar tissue and make the scar look softer and more like the original skin.
