Botulinum Toxin A

What is it?

‘Botox’ is Allergans’ Brand Name for Botulinum Toxin A.

This toxin when used for Anti Wrinkle Treatment, is a naturally occurring protein that relaxes the muscles of the face, and consequently over time, smoothes out any wrinkles. It is one of the UK’s most popular cosmetic treatments for the removal of wrinkles.

Not only can Dr. Stephanie and Dr. David administer this, but because they are Advanced Facial Practitioners they can easily interchange toxins, such as Bocouture® and Azzalure® as needed – so, they can perfectly tailor your treatment.

What will treatment for Lines & Wrinkles involve?

The treatment involves making a series of small injections into the muscles of your face. The injection process itself only take several minutes. This is the treatment of choice for people with forehead lines, frown lines or wrinkles around their eyes that they wish to diminish.

Anti-Wrinkle

Botox Anti-wrinkle Injections

Does it hurt?

The procedure is largely pain free. There will be mild discomfort, which is experienced due to the small needle injection involved. You may notice some soreness in the injection site directly after the treatment, but this should subside quickly.

Is it safe?

Botulinum toxin A has been in medical use for more than four decades, and it is administered in such a way that it only affects your muscles and sweat glands – it does not reach any other part of the body. As long as a qualified professional administers it, the risks are extremely minimal.

What happens after treatment?

You can carry on with your day as normal, although we advise that you avoid strenuous activity/saunas/other facial treatments for up to 24 hours.

After 4-10 days you will notice an improvement in your lines/wrinkles, and this result will last approximately 4-6 months.

What areas can benefit from this treatment?

The treatment is most effective when used to reduce the signs of ageing in the following places:

  • Forehead/brow
  • Between the eyes
  • Sides of the eyes

How long do the effects last?

The results usually last for around four to six months, after which you may wish to return for another treatment.

Our free consultation session will help you determine which treatment is suitable for you.

Treatment Summary

Teeth Grinding & Face Thinning

For Teeth Grinding & Face Thinning

A strong, square jawline can make a female face look masculine. After your consultation and consent, we place Botox in the masseter muscles & along the jawline in a quick, simple and easy technique to help achieve that attractive heart shape face.

This treatment can also reduce teeth grinding and clenching whilst sleeping- in both males and females. Teeth grinding is a common cause of jaw pain, tension headaches and can often feel like toothache.

Sweating & Migraine

Hyperhidrosis

Hyperhidrosis is the medical term for excessive sweating. Perspiration is a perfectly normal bodily function, and sweat plays an important role in moderating the body’s temperature. However, hyperhidrosis sufferers sweat more than necessary, and this can be both uncomfortable and – if sweat patches become visible – embarrassing.

Injections of botulinum toxin – ‘Botox®’ – is a recommended treatment for hyperhidrosis, . This is a safe, well-established treatment and has been used for many years. The toxin works by preventing the sweat glands from producing sweat.

After your consultation and consent, using a very small needle, a series of injections of botulinum toxin are injected into each armpit or the scalp. Treatment takes approximately 30 minutes.

You will notice an improvement within 7 days. Effects usually last approximately 6 months.
